Product Range

Nautilus Marine Service offers VITROVEX® glass housings on its website in a variety of shapes and sizes. These housings are pressure-resistant, temperature- and chemical-resistant, and can be flexibly combined with metal or plastic components as well as third-party parts for scientific applications.

Overview

Nautilus Marine Service provides buoyancy and instrument housings in various shapes (spherical, cylindrical, and oval) and in a wide range of outer diameters from approximately 2" to 20". Depending on wall thickness and diameter, they can withstand external pressures of up to 1200 bar. VITROVEX® glass belongs to the group of borosilicate glasses, which are characterized by low thermal expansion, resulting in low sensitivity to temperature changes and high resistance to chemical influences.
In addition, these glass housings can be combined with metal (e.g., titanium) or plastic components to meet the diverse requirements of scientific customers in particular. Examples include alternative sealing techniques, flanges for separating and joining hemispheres, or protective devices against mechanical impacts. Very often, there is also the need to integrate third-party components such as penetrators, feedthroughs, transponders, and many others. Nautilus Marine Service has developed suitable interfaces and procedures for this purpose and supports their implementation.
