YUCO PAM
The YUCO-Pam is equipped with an RS Aqua Porpoise Noise Recorder. The already excellent performance of the noise recorder is further enhanced by the AUV’s “Shutdown Surfacing” feature. The vehicle can be configured to dive normally, shut down its propulsion system at depth, and surface silently. Once it reaches the surface, it reactivates the propulsion system for the next dive. This enables completely undisturbed acoustic measurements to be carried out during surfacing with the YUCO.

YUCO-PAM is an innovative autonomous solution for passive acoustic monitoring.
Instead of a mounted hydrophone, it features a fully autonomous recorder embedded within the YUCO-PAM micro-AUV.
The YUCO-PAM micro-AUV is equipped with the Porpoise recorder from RS Aqua, offering a selectable sampling rate of up to 384 kHz and a storage capacity of up to 4 TB. The Porpoise recorder can be either programmed independently or triggered by the AUV and is capable of synchronizing its recordings with YUCO-PAM's operations.
This allows the YUCO-PAM micro-AUV to monitor both anthropogenic noise—such as pile driving and vessel traffic—and marine mammals, even at high frequencies like those produced by porpoises.
Thanks to SEABER’s SEAPLAN software, a wide range of noise-monitoring-optimized navigation patterns can be used.
YUCO-PAM micro-AUV can continuously record underwater noise while navigating. It can also operate in a dedicated "silent" mode for stationary acoustic recordings at specific locations. Additionally, it can surface to log GPS positions for each recording. With its integrated pressure sensor and optional DVL, YUCO-PAM can maintain a fixed depth or altitude underwater.
With an autonomy of up to 10 hours and speeds ranging from 2 to 6 knots, YUCO-PAM micro-AUV is capable of long-duration missions in current-affected environments.
Unlike other solutions, the embedded INX navigation system in YUCO-PAM allows for precise navigation without the need for external infrastructure—making it ideal for truly silent noise monitoring operations.
