01.02.2012 - VITROVEX has got a new family member Nautilus Marine Service has just recently added a 10” diameter sphere to the popular VITROVEX glass range of instrument housings and buoyancy modules. Rated to 10,000m the sphere can be used as a flotation module or as a housing for sensitive deep ocean research equipment. In the latter form the sphere will be supplied with an integral vacuum port and whatever electrical and pressure ports the end user specifies. See data sheet for more information.

See the enclosed link for a fascinating albeit very touching story that we received from Roger Scrivens, the president of RS Aqua Ldt. , our local representative in the U.K. This floatation sphere was made in 2002 and demonstrats impressively the long lasting quality of VITROVEX products.
15.06.2011 - VITROVEX tested as part of Sonardyne's Fetch instrumentsRecent science cruises on the Woods Hole vessel Atlantis and the NERC vessel Discovery provided by the National Oceanography Centre in Liverpool provided the opportunity to carry out test on the new Fetch instrument from Sonardyne. Fetch is a long-life subsea sensor logging node that enables data to be wirelessly extracted via its integrated high speed acoustic modem. It can be free fall deployment to the seabed and will land in an upright position. This reduces deplyoment time and cost. Fetch is packaged is a spherical pressure housing made from highly pressure tolerant and corrosion-proof VITROVEX glass. >>more...
30.05.2011 - VITROVEX wins starring role in deep-sea film project With the great support of RS Aqua Ldt. , our local representative in the U.K., Nautilus Marine Service received an order for two VITROVEX cylindrical instrument housings with optical polished dome ports from the independent film production company Ammonite Ldt. The complicated assembly will be used to house pioneering video technology which will look at the ocean in a previously unseen way.
